Open Garden and Art Exhibition 6th July 2025

We’re very busy getting our home and garden ready for Sunday 6th July. That’s when we open our garden to the public as part of the National Garden Scheme, to raise money for the many charities that the scheme supports (see details for Madehurst).

We’ve done this for several years but in recent years we’ve opened the house too, to show the owner’s art work. Palo Almond exhibits widely but it’s only in her house that you can see the full range of her work. She paints in watercolours, oils and mixed media. You will see lots of trees and landscapes. More recently she has started to incorporate pressed flowers from the garden into her watercolour paintings!

But back to the garden which is the real star of the show. It’s a mature garden on several levels. A range of shrubs, trees and many flower beds with mainly perennials. Lots of soft fruit too and scented bushes!!

We open the doors at 12.00 and close them at 5pm. See details on the yellow flyer for the other gardens that are open too, many in walking distance from Madehurst. We’re hoping to beat our record of almost 250 visitors at our recent June opening 🤞.
