Celebrating Seaford, Victoria

One of our Facebook friends, John Coles, has shared photographs of Seaford in Australia, a town close to where he lives.

There are many similarities between the two towns.

Both beaches are attractive, however Seaford Australia’s beach has a little more sand than ours!

The population of Seaford, Victoria is estimated to be 17,764. The population density is 1,425 people per square kilometre which is not that much different from our town.

Like us they have a pier

Kananook Creek runs for 7.5 km parallel to the coastline linking Seaford Wetlands to Frankston Foreshore. The creek reserve is home to many indigenous plants and animals providing a unique and picturesque place for people to commune with nature in the midst of an urban landscape

We are lucky to have Seaford Head Nature Reserve, a haven for wildlife with views of the coastguard cottages leading down to the Cuckmere River and the Seven Sisters which attract tourists worldwide.

Both towns are blessed to have local shops.

As for the weather, according to Accuweather the temperature in Seaford Victoria on Boxing Day is forecast to be 36 degrees with an extreme fire weather warning whereas in Seaford Sussex the forecast is a chilly 9 degrees.

However, whatever the weather it is still Christmas in Seaford. Hope you are enjoying the festivities.
