GreenSockMovement – Tales of the Riverbank
THIS IS THE BIG ONE!
We are attempting to remove over a tonne of plastic and synthetic materials from the Cuckmere Haven River Estuary over one weekend. There is one mile of river bank we are focusing on. We will be there from 8.30am till 3.30pm both days, the tide will be out both days.
There are many millions of pieces of plastic all along its length… large, medium, small and tiny pieces of plastic and synthetic materials in a nature reserve and bird sanctuary.
We are going to try to remove as much nasty harmful material as possible over one weekend. We will have plenty of strong gathering bags and tonne bags to fill. Please come and help if you can… for a couple of hours…. or for a morning or afternoon… for a full day or for the whole weekend. All are welcome at any time we hope this will become a monthly event to prevent these materials spreading further into the estuary floodplains. You will be literally picking up piece after piece after piece all day. Bring Some Friends and Plenty of Positive Energy. Bring Some Snacks and A Flask of Tea or Coffee.
