The blue supermoon on Monday 19th August will be the biggest and brightest moon so far this year.

The blue super moon, also known as the ‘Sturgeon moon’, will be about 30% bigger and 15% brighter than a normal moon according to space.com
The moon will start to rise at approximately 20:25. There will be three further supermoons this year, September 18th, October 17th and November 15th.
Unfortunately the moon won’t appear blue in the sky. A blue moon in this instance refers to it being a third full moon in a season that has four full moons.
The moon will look very impressive as it rises above the horizon, if you have binoculars it will look even better as you may be able to see the craters and large mountain ridges.
