National Highways has announced upcoming road closures throughout August and September to carry out essential resurfacing works to the A26 near #Newhaven
ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION FROM NATIONAL HIGHWAYS: Essential resurfacing works to the A26 near Newhaven. To carry out the works safely we’ll need to close the A26 both directions in various locations. The works will be carried out in three phases, overnight Monday to Friday between the hours 8pm to 6am.
Phase one closure: South Heighton to Newhaven Town • Monday 5 August for five nights
Phase one diversion. Southbound traffic will be diverted via the B2109, A259, B2019 westbound, A259 South Way one way system, to rejoin the A259 eastbound carriageway. Northbound traffic will continue along the A259, B2109 to rejoin the A26 at South Heighton
Phase two closure: Tarring Neville to South Heighton • Monday 12 August for five nights
Phase two diversion Southbound traffic will be diverted from the Beddingham roundabout, west bound along the A27, A270, A23, A259 to join the A26 on New Road to South Heighton. Northbound traffic will do the reserve of the southbound diversion.
Phase three closure: Tarring Neville • Tuesday 27 August for four nights • Monday 9 September for five nights
Phase three. diversion Southbound traffic will be diverted from the Beddingham roundabout, west bound along the A27, A270, A23, A259 to join the A26 on New Road to South Heighton. Northbound traffic will do the reserve of the southbound diversion.
