The Seaford and District Horticultural Society can trace its roots back to the early years of the last century and continues today with the same strong principles to ‘encourage, improve and extend horticulture by means of exhibitions and otherwise’.

These principles are promoted through monthly ‘socials’, where guest speakers are invited to share their horticulture knowledge and experiences, local culture and history. Regular outings to ‘gardens of interest’ as well as plant and seed sales are included in the year long calendar but, the highlight has to be the Annual Show. This is where Society members compete for a magnificent array of silverware and rosettes across nigh on a hundred classes celebrating flowers, fruit and vegetables, cookery, and crafts. The show is open to the members of the public, who can come to admire the exhibits and enjoy a cup of tea and homemade cakes.

If you are interested in joining the Society, the annual membership fee is just £10 and for further information please contact Cheryl Webb, webbcheryl@hotmail.com. 0777 934 8236
