Archaeology and History Weekend at Old West Dean Manor BN25 4AL

Saturday July 13th and Sunday July 14th 10am- 4pm.

See the ruins of the Old Manor House and the archaeology site and enjoy tea, coffee and delicious homemade cakes and savouries from the Farrowing Barn.  Seating for refreshments is at the Old Manor House site.

Money raised from the sale of food and drinks will go to the fabric fund at All Saints Church and car park donations to Motor Neurone Disease Charity

At 11am and 1pm there will be led tours of the Elizabethan Terrace, Victorian hotbed and the Medieval Dovecote with details of the Manor House development through the centuries and a final thought about the earliest house on the site which may be as early as the Norman Conquest

During the afternoons from 2.00 to 3.00 David Stevens, All Saints organist, will be playing in the Church.  David will give a brief introductory talk about the organ and a demonstration of the great variety of sounds that it can produce.

Find the site opposite the Church in West Dean just off the Litlington road where there is free parking and free entrance.  If wet, parking is in the Lane or the parks for Friston Forest or the South Downs National Park.

Dogs welcome on a short lead and WC provided
